St James Preschool is a not-for-profit organisation and is partially funded by the Department of Education. As a licenced preschool we are required to have a full set of Policies and Procedures concerning all aspects of the service. These are reviewed regularly and are available on request.
The preschool is operated by a management committee. This consists of two parent representatives and five representatives from All Saints Anglican Church in Balgowlah.
We are licensed to cater for 30 children each day during Department of Education school terms and we are closed during school holidays and public holidays. Fees are not payable during school holiday periods. Fees are payable for public holidays during the term, personal holiday and leave during the school term and 3 pupil free days in Term 1, 3 and 4.
Our children attend either on Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday or Thursday/Friday.
St James Preschool is supported by NSW Government Department of Education Funding – including Start Strong & Affordable Funding providing fee relief for 600 hours in the two years before school. (15hrs/week). This enables us to provide a significant discount to the daily fees for every child.
In 2023 fees are:
3 Day class: 4 to 5 Years
For the Monday to Wednesday formal educational program, St James Preschool is open between the hours of 9am - 3.30pm. Extra hours are available for a maximum of 12 children for the time of 8.30am - 9am and 3.30 - 4.00pm at a cost of $12 for each half an hour. Bookings are available on a casual basis or can be booked for a term.

Resource Levy - $48 per term
Incursion - $20 per term
OWNA Communication App - $10 per term
Total for 3-day child per term = $1,008
2 Day class: 3 to 5 Years
On the Thursday and Friday, our formal educational program runs between 9am – 3.30pm. Children may be dropped off at 8.30am and are able to stay until 4pm where they will be supervised during indoor free play.

Total for 2-day child per term = $452
These fees are reviewed annually and are subject to change.
